I recently attended a WIWIP hybrid event and found both the content and the session management to be of the highest quality. The discussion was passionate, engaging, and inclusive of a range of experiences and perspectives. The logistical management of the hybrid nature of the event was smooth; in fact, one of the best hybrid events I’ve seen done yet.

Participating in the Women of War Studies panel was a rewarding opportunity to reflect on my own path to the PhD and the lessons that my journey might offer to others. It is a great credit to the WIWIP team that they chose to include professional services staff as well as academics during this panel, and I appreciated the perspective this offered attendees on the diversity of careers and paths they might pursue after their degree. The event offered a welcoming environment and the chance to network with a community of engaged and passionate fellow students.

I recently was asked to speak about my own experiences navigating academia and offer career and mentoring advice for women who are just beginning their own career planning. WIWIP organisers did an excellent job in crafting a diverse panel of female speakers and WIWIP members asked really important questions. The event was warm and inviting and it was a joy to participate.
— Dr. Amanda Chisholm, panellist
I am really happy to have had the chance to discuss my book A Loss. The Story of a Dead Soldier Told by His Sister at an event organised by WIWIP, War Studies, King’s College London. Working with WIWIP was a great experience: their team consists of enthusiastic, well-informed and eager young scholars. The event was well-attended and excellently organised.
— Dr. Olesya Khromeychuk
Thank you very much for hosting Olesiya Khromeychuk’s book launch yesterday! I was delighted to take part and I found it very moving and informative. It was great to hear her personal experience around the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine― especially when most Europeans seem to have forgotten about this war. I look forward to taking part in a future event!
— Attendee at the book launch for 'The Loss'
WIWIP pulled off another fantastic event this term, this time speaking to personal challenges and opportunities that women face over the course of their respective journeys within academia. Together with Ribka Metaferia, Lizzie Ellen, and Amanda Chisholm, we shared our personal stories and what struck me was that while we all had a different backstory, we came to surprisingly similar conclusions.
